The Opportunity
Tetra Tech RPS Energy is adding a Senior or Principal Environmental Consultant - Energy Transition to our Marine Consenting and Environment team.
We operate a hybrid working arrangement and you can be based in Chepstow, Edinburgh, Woking, Aberdeen or London (home working can be considered). We have flexible working opportunities, including part time roles, to ensure a balance of family and working life.
We are at the forefront of the industry - delivering offshore infrastructure projects in complex marine environments including renewables, carbon capture storage (CCS) and oil & gas developments. Our experience includes 20 years working across the UK, wider Europe, Americas, Australia and Asia. You'll become a member of a deeply experienced marine consenting and environment team who have been selected as the lead Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Habitats Regulations Assessments (HRA) consultant for several industry milestones. Notably, we delivered the Environmental Statement (ES) for the Liverpool Bay HyNet CCS project, a pioneering effort in the UK's journey towards a low-carbon future, combining technological innovation, economic benefits, and significant environmental impact.
Your Role
As part of an established team of energy transition professionals, you will have a strategic role providing United Kingdom Continental Shelf (UKCS) and international permitting services to clients within the oil & gas and energy transition sectors. You will have the opportunity to work alongside colleagues mentoring junior team members.
* Produce a range of environmental management and permitting documents including environmental statements, environmental management systems, UK Master Application Template (MAT) and Subsidiary Application Template (SAT), Oil Pollution Emergency plans etc.
* Undertake the technical and commercial aspects of project management
* Be involved in business development
o Maintaining and deepening relations with our existing clients
o Providing quotes and helping prepare bids for potential work
There will also be opportunities to work with us on international permitting and environmental assessments for energy transition and Oil & Gas projects, particularly in north and west Africa.
Qualifications
* You will be degree qualified in a relevant subject (environmental science, marine biology, ecology, engineering, chemical engineering etc.)
* You will have a clear knowledge of offshore legislation and the UKCS or international offshore consenting permitting process
* You will have awareness of Health and Safety systems, Environmental Management Systems, Decommissioning or Oil Pollution Emergency plans
* You have project management skills in a commercial environment
* You will be willing and able to travel on an ad hoc basis, for client and contractor meetings
