Job summary Ward 8b is a 24 bedded General Medical Ward at Pilgrim hospital where there are opportunities for band 5 experienced and novice nurses. As part of our dynamic team you will deliver care to patients who are admitted with simple and complex medical conditions. You will receive development and support from a senior nursing team consisting of a Ward Manager and 2 Deputy Ward Managers and the trust has a strong emphasis on staff support and development. Main duties of the job The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of a consistently high standard of nursing care that meets the individual needs of our patients and those of the Trust. The post holder will demonstrate clinical expertise in the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of care that puts patients at the centre of this approach. The post holder will be expected to have the required management and facilitation skills that allows them to supervise the activity of other staff in the clinical setting, promote multi-disciplinary working and facilitate a supportive and learning environment. The post holder may, on occasions, be required to assume responsibility for the ward / department in the absence of the Sister/Charge Nurse. As a Registered Nurse the post holder is expected to consistently act in accordance with the NMC Code.
