(c1a9e) A young male adult with autism in Prudhoe area is looking for an enabler to support with 5hrs per week.
• Enabling support required with access to age-appropriate activities including socialising, accessing the local community, and visiting places of interest.
• To help with living skills (public transport/ using money in shops/cafes etc.), possibly find a club he is comfortable to go to where he can meet people of similar age & interests, he loves table tennis, playing drums and art (not crafts but specific art type).. he currently has an art exhibition in Allendale showcasing his drawings.
• He enjoys rock music, trying to get him to go to live music gigs
• Supporting the client to gain independence by learning to use public transport where possible and become confident with everyday activities and socialising.
• Has a very witty but sarcastic sense of humour, is quite nerdy, so we are looking for someone with similar interests that have been listed who can help open up a new world to him where he will feel comfortable & accepted.
• He is very competitive and will love nothing more than beating you at table tennis if you are up for the challenge!
The post is a flexible with the hours either Thursday or Fridays afternoon or both split over them, and a Wednesday evening can be considered. Details can be discussed at interview.
Summer holidays may be 5 hours one day per week to be able to extend travel to various places, but flexible.
Experience preferred of working with young adults with autism but not essential.
Hours of work:
5hrs per week – hours to be split over weekdays (flexible)
Rates of Pay: £13.09 per hour

Further Information: Driving license and car would be preferred to use when public transport is not an option. An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Certificate (DBS) will have to be obtained for the successful candidate (at employer’s expense ).
Training: Where it is required, such as in Health and Safety matters, practical training and guidance will be arranged, and the care worker will be expected to attend. Services
