LED Community Leisure is looking for a motivated Fitness & Wellbeing Lead to join The Hangar Health & Fitness in Axminster. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a state-of-the-art facility, ensuring operational excellence while fostering a strong community-focused approach.
About the Role
As the Fitness & Wellbeing Lead, you will be responsible for the overall management of The Hangar Health & Fitness, ensuring it operates safely, efficiently, and successfully.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Leadership – Overseeing the day-to-day running of the gym, ensuring a high-quality and engaging fitness experience for all users.
2. Team Development – Leading and inspiring a high-performing team, supporting their growth and professional development.
3. Health & Safety Compliance – Ensuring all safety regulations and industry standards are met.
4. Commercial Success – Driving membership growth, increasing revenue, and identifying business development opportunities.
5. Community Engagement – Building relationships with local stakeholders, health professionals, and organisations to expand service reach.
This role requires a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, able to balance commercial success with a strong commitment to community well-being.
We are seeking a proven leader with:
1. Experience in fitness or wellbeing management, including staff leadership and facility operations.
2. Strong commercial acumen, with a track record of delivering financial performance and driving growth.
3. Excellent people skills, able to inspire teams and create an outstanding customer experience.
4. Health & Safety expertise, with a solid understanding of industry regulations and compliance.
5. A passion for promoting active, healthy lifestyles in the community.
A Level 3 Fitness Qualification (Personal Trainer and/or Exercise Referral), First Aid at Work Qualification, and other relevant certifications are essential. A Leisure Management supervisory qualification is desirable.
