Now an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead Nurse to join our team and contribute to the excellent standards of care we deliver in our Emergency Department. We see in excess of 101,000 people a year, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, working closely with other acute trusts in South Yorkshire.
We are looking for nurses with a desire to Lead effective and efficient Urgent and Emergency Care. You will have drive and motivation and be able to demonstrate a kind and compassionate attitude. Main duties of the job
Joining Barnsley Emergency Department as a Lead Nurse is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious Clinical Leader to play a part in promoting professional standards, advancing patient experience and supporting workforce development in order to drive excellent standards of care for our patients.
As Lead Nurse you will have excellent communication skills and hold a portfolio of excellent clinical skills, and be an established leader.
The successful applicant will be pivotal in developing the nursing team, leading organisational change and be responsible for team vision and drive to achieve our goals. The post holder will lead our team to deliver patient centred, quality care to the highest standard, develop and implement positive patient initiatives and advocate for the nursing team.
The successful candidate will have responsibility of operational management and service delivery within the Emergency Department, inclusive of managing and monitoring resource, delivering change and long term provision of delivery of quality patient care, evidenced by local and national standards.

* 1st level registered nurse (equivalent to 1st degree) plus significant Emergency Department experience at either Nurse Grade F or Band 6 plus additional qualifications including Assessing and Mentoring qualification and additional relevant degree (or evidence of working towards a degree).
* Evidence of ongoing dynamic continuing professional development within the specialty linked to demonstrable clinical competencies.
Desirable
* NVQ D32/33 Assessor Course.
* Advanced Life Support training.
* ENP qualification.
* Minor Illness course.
Experience
Essential
* Demonstrable experience of taking charge of a ward environment.
* Experience of leading and managing a team of nurses.
