Job summary The Specialist Learning Disability Service supports Children and Young People with a Profound, Severe or Moderate Learning Disability and we are looking for a Lead Nursery Nurse. As a Nursery Nurse lead you will have responsibility for actively participating as a key member of the Learning Disability Clinical team for providing quality services for theSpecialist Learning Disability Team under the supervision of a registered professional This role will lead and co-ordinate Specialist Learning Disability Support Assistants to provide best evidence-based practice in a safe and supportive environment. Main duties of the job To work in close liaison and partnership with the manager of the Specialist Learning Disability service in both day to day and strategic development of the service To provide professional leadership, support and line management to the Specialist Learning Disability Support Assistants to ensure they meet the needs of the children in providing a core part of the specialist assessment process and deliver therapy as required To ensure, as the professional lead, that the Specialist Learning Disability Support Assistants are competent to carry out their role to a professional level To liaise with families and professionals to support and sustain an integrated approach to the services that the children with additional needs may have throughout the assessment process and through the child's service plan cycle To support the Specialist Learning Disability support assistants, where it is appropriate, to undertake a key working role for the child throughout the assessment cycle and any subsequent therapy To take the lead in the assessment process where the child's needs are extremely complex or where there is a safeguarding concern About us Why Work With Us Our Children and Young People say "We would like the people who work for Children and Family Health Devon to be understanding, patient and respectful.
