A busy Community Mental Health Hubs covering the borough of Harrow defined by Primary Care Network comprising a multidisciplinary team of Mental Health Nurses, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, employment specialist, Housing officer, support workers Psychologists and Consultant Psychiatrists. The CMHH is based in Harrow Wealdstone, a diverse multi-cultural area situated within easy reach of central London.

The Post-holders must be a qualified Nurse and meet all essential person specification requirements for the post. You will need to have experience of managing a multi-disciplinary staff team, including line management, supervision responsibility and operational management of services at band 7 in a mental health setting.
Harrow CMHHs operate Monday to Friday from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm.
We offer induction and tailored training will be given and encouraged. Clinical supervision and appraisal process are an integral part of our work.
• To be the operational manager for the Community Mental Health Hubs, responsible for the workload of the team and ensuring that priorities are met.
• To take a lead on the health services provision within Community Mental Health Hubs
• To line manage Team Leaders from disciplines such as CPNs, Social Workers, OTs.
• To ensure robust delivery of an intervention based model of care including group programmes, Trauma Informed approach and discipline specific treatment options for service users
• To ensure systems for the delivery of Dialogue Plus Care Planning and recovery principles are in place and that they are made available to service users in the team
• To work with in the relevant legislative frameworks |(e.g. Mental Health Act (1983) Mental Capacity Act (2005), Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards, Care Act 2014 etc)
• To promote a culture of service user choice and control within team members daily practice to be monitored and developed through supervision and appraisal

• To work in partnership with the consultant psychiatrists in the team to actively promote MDT working
• To work closely with the Primary Care Network Leads and ensure effective communication
• To work actively in partnership with service users and carers
• To engage directly with service users to ensure effective consultation regarding service standards and development
• To facilitate and enhance good team working and promote reflective practice
• To ensure strong links are maintained with the assessment and inpatient teams to relieve bed pressures
• To ensure that there is full discussion with all relevant parties before discharge, in line with the Department of Health Guidance and within the local Dialogue Plus Care planning framework
• To ensure strong links are maintained with CNWL Step Down Facilities, residential establishments and housing/ homelessness support schemes and that needs of service users are fully assessed before discharge from the inpatient unit
• To ensure the team maintains close liaison with all local agencies that support service users, including the Metropolitan Police Service, primary care and voluntary sector organisations
• To maintain close liaison and address interface problems with CNWL and LBH services
• To ensure good working links with any other agencies who may be involved in referring service users or providing services for them
• To disseminate professional developments and changes in policy or legislation, information regarding services and community resources, to ensure that staff utilise these services or developments for the benefit of service users
• To provide expert advice and consultation in professional matters relating to the postholder’s discipline, and to ensure that expert information and advice is available for the other disciplines in the team
• To attend liaison meetings with other teams agencies, for example police, housing, learning disabilities, safeguarding, MAPPA Level 2 etc
