Role: Senior Finance Specialist / Financial Fraud Risk Specialist
Contract Length: Anticipated 6 months
Location: Hybrid – Reading, West Berkshire

We are seeking a Financial Fraud Risk Specialist to lead the oversight and management of financial fraud risks throughout the organisation. This role involves drafting and executing strategies to identify, prevent, and reduce fraud, alongside conducting thorough investigations and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards. The ideal candidate should possess extensive experience in fraud risk management, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Key accountabilities:
1. Develop and implement a comprehensive fraud risk management framework to identify, assess, and mitigate financial fraud risks.
2. Monitor and analyse fraud trends and patterns to proactively address emerging risks.
3. Conduct regular risk assessments and ensure appropriate controls are in place to prevent and detect fraud.
4. Design and implement fraud detection systems, tools, and techniques.
5. Develop and maintain fraud detection models, ensuring they are up-to-date and effective.
6. Establish and maintain fraud prevention policies, procedures, and guidelines in accordance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
7. Provide training and awareness programs to employees on fraud prevention and detection.
8. Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track fraud risk metrics and key performance indicators.
9. Analyse data to identify trends, patterns, and areas of improvement in fraud prevention and detection.
Key requirements:
1. Proven experience in financial fraud risk management.
2. Finance background.
3. Implementation of Financial Controls to mitigate Fraud Risk.
4. Strong knowledge of fraud risk management frameworks, tools, and techniques.
5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and identify potential fraud risks.
6. Proficiency in using fraud detection software and financial analysis tools.
7. Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards related to financial fraud risk management.
8. Ability to work independently and make informed decisions under pressure.
