LDD, part of Acteon Group, is a marine and subsea foundation specialist. Using our extensive in-field experience, we design, engineer, build and operate world class pile-installation, lifting equipment and drilling equipment to deliver tubular foundations of any size, in any geology, anywhere. LDD are currently looking to add a Bid Engineer. As an LDD Bid Engineer, you will be responsible for reviewing RFQs, drafting proposals and supporting clients with bids for foundation installation services in Offshore Renewables, Marine Construction and Oil and Gas markets. Your primary focus will be on the LDD Drilling service line, whilst also providing support for handling and grouting services, as required. You will be expected to have competent awareness of the full service range from the Acteon Foundations Business Line and be able to confidently package together multiple service offerings to fulfil customer project requirements. International travel is required, when necessary (1 week international travel every 8 weeks is expected, becoming more frequent with experience). Duties/Responsibilities Generate new leads and client contacts, forming and building on new and long-term relationships with key clients. Review client RFQs including geotechnical data, site location, construction design drawings and installation methods. Build technical & commercial solutions using Acteon Foundations Segment offerings, write methodologies and develop cost models. Attend meetings to discuss detailed project requirements and present LDD services, technical solutions, technical options, and commercial position. Meet and build relationships with decision makers in client organizations, hunt out potential future project opportunities and additional new clients. Provide market intelligence on competitors, upcoming projects, project sanctions, client strategy, barriers to entry. Co-ordinate meetings with the client, to close out any clarifications as raised. Co-ordinate internal meetings to ensure project risks are mitigated, ensure equipment is available and that our technical and commercial position is robust. Co-ordinate project kick off meeting to allow successful execution of the project by the Projects Team. Actively encourage opportunities to work together with other Acteon operating companies. Support diversification into new markets and product development, gathering market intelligence including competition, technical requirements, payback on capital investment, size of market and future market plans. Build and maintain an awareness of key contractual considerations for LDD scopes of work and address these in bids, through discussions and negotiations with clients with support of LDD Commercial Manager and Senior Management. Build and manage a sales pipeline of opportunities across the designated region and segment, with an aim to convert these into contracts. Responsibility for undertaking the preparation and co-ordination of LDD bids/quotations/enquiries. Responsibility for the development, preparation, and maintenance of LDD CRM system. Prepare bids in line with client RFQs. Co-ordinate technical, commercial and contractual bid review meetings (internal and external). Attendance at LDD and Acteon marketing events, conferences, and corporate occasions. Attend a weekly forward-looking diary of planned activities, customer meetings, live bid status, outstanding bid clarifications and actions required to convert bids into contracts. Attend a bi-weekly Business Development meeting, sharing new clients and new opportunities to the LDD Sales Team. Participate, as required, in the development of business plans and budgets for LDD. Research, investigate and prepare key business documents aligned with CRM data and conversion confidence. Contribute to the continual improvement, efficient and effective management of the business, quality, and safety culture of the whole company. Take action and/or report any unsafe operations in any part of the Company. Requirements High level written English. Familiarity with Microsoft programs. Engineering qualification such as mechanical, automotive or civils. Experience in managing a project in terms of deliverables and budget control. Candidate will be proactive and able to work on their own initiative. Ideally 1 years bid experience with offshore/marine industry focus. Ideally educated to Degree/HND/HNC level in a relevant field (i.e., Engineering or Geotechnical background). Willingness to travel globally. Well presented, exceptional time management & organisational skills. Ability and willingness to learn and develop. Excellent communication and presentation skills essential.
