We have a great opportunity for a Maintenance Technician to join the Maintenance Team at our Stoke-on-Trent plant.
Working in the plant maintenance team at Stoke, the successful candidate will ensure that production targets and quality objectives are met, by contributing to the effective maintenance of all plant machinery and equipment to the highest possible standard.
The successful candidate will support the department in a variety of essential tasks:
* Ensure breakdowns are responded to in a timely manner and any follow up actions are carried out.
* Improve equipment as part of the Continuous Improvement culture.
* Ensure Maintenance records and work database (SAP) are kept up to date.
* Carry out planned maintenance work against TPM plan.
* Contribute to the improvement and development of the planned maintenance system.
* Organise and liaise with contractors, raising permits to work when and where required.
* Support and Facilitate PPS / PFU activities to identify root causes of deficits and manage the achievement of relevant corrective actions.
* Work flexibly and carry out additional duties as required.
The skills and qualifications required for the role are:

* Ability to work under pressure and make sound judgment and decision.
* Knowledge and experience of PLC Systems, HMI’s, DC drives, Inverter controls, and safety control systems.
* Knowledge and experience of electrical installation, with competence in fault finding on electrical, pneumatic, steam, and hydraulic control systems.
* Knowledge and understanding of ABB 6 axis robots is desirable.
* Good, sound mechanical / electrical engineering background with an understanding of manufacturing processes, automotive experience an advantage.
* Comprehensive understanding of equipment- electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems.
* Knowledge and practice of ‘modern engineering philosophies’, for example Kaizen, Poke Yoke, 5’s, standardised work, FMEA, working to Standards ISO14001, IATF16949 etc.
* Minimum of 5 GCSE between A – C (9 – 6) (including English and Maths).
* Fully Apprenticeship trained in Level 3 / 4 electrical or mechanical engineering.
* BTEC Certificate in Electrical Engineering or equivalent - HNC or above preferred.

The role is located at Stoke-on-Trent and will report to the on-shift Maintenance Team Leader.
Working hours are 36.5 per week, currently on a 2-shift rotating pattern:
* Mornings: Monday-Thursday 6am - 2pm, Friday 6am-1pm
* Afternoons: Monday-Thursday 2pm - 10pm, Friday 1pm - 8pm
The position is however contracted to a 3-shift pattern, with flexibility required to undertake night-shift working, dependent on the prevailing needs of the business
