The role We are looking for a Knowledge Management Advisor to join our expanding Knowledge Management team. This is a great opportunity to work in an experienced and friendly team with an important role in Mills & Reeve's developing Knowledge Management environment. There will be opportunities for progression, and expansion of the role. Reporting to the Head of Knowledge Management and Digital you will support the development and implementation of the firm's knowledge management strategy. You will be supported by our Knowledge Manager, colleagues in the wider Digital and KM team, as well as colleagues in other closely connected teams. The person To be successful in the role you will need: first class communication and interpersonal skills and have highly developed organisational skills, sound judgment and excellent attention to detail. You will be able to build credibility and strong relationships with colleagues at all levels of the business You will be self motivated and take a proactive approach towards projects and initiatives, seek direction and advice as needed but be prepared to take ownership and progress tasks and projects independently where appropriate You will be adaptable and flexible, with the ability to work in an environment of change, to work well in a hybrid working environment and be willing to travel to attend key meetings and to build relationships with your and other teams Given the challenges of this role, it is likely that your background and experience will include: Bachelor's degree (2:1 or above preferred). A legal qualification in England & Wales or experience in the legal sector would be an advantage, as would a degree or background in library and information services Supporting the development, delivery and coordination of initiatives with stakeholders across multiple functions Experience and understanding of Knowledge Management principles, strategy and implementation A good understanding of and genuine interest in technology solutions for KM and optimisation of user experience An understanding of the knowledge management technology landscape. Experience working within iManage Work10, BA Insight enterprise search, iManage Insight or Lexsoft T3 is highly desirable The activities The successful candidate will have a particular focus on supporting the delivery of the firm's knowledge management strategy and upgrade of the KM system. Key responsibilities include: Working with the KM team and others to help with implementation of a technical KM solution Supporting processes and governance for know-how creation, capture, storage and retrieval, and deliver efficiencies that will help the firm to deliver outstanding client service Promoting a knowledge-sharing culture across the business and helping to gather precedents and knowledge to go into the KM system Working with Professional Support Lawyers to support their knowledge needs and initiatives and help to deliver effective knowledge solutions for them and their teams Working with IT trainers and others to support the delivery of effective training on the firm's knowledge systems and best practice for their use Supporting the anonymisation of legal know how documents Reporting, analytics and content audits KM system support inbox management, dealing with or triaging KM queries and requests Support the delivery of the KM strategy and help to ensure compliance and continuous improvement We reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive sufficient applications for the role.
