We're looking for a Planning Manager to join our Natural Resources, Nuclear & Networks team based Nationwide Location : Nationwide - Hybrid working is available, however this will need to be balanced with the needs of the business Contract: Permanent, full time - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us Our Environment business unit is working with the Canal & River Trust, The Mining Remediation Authority (formerly known as The Coal Authority) and Severn Trent Water on a number of capital projects and frameworks. The works are a mixture of maintenance and management work along the UK's 2000 miles of navigable canals and rivers, works mitigating the effects of past mining activities and reservoir enhancement schemes. Due to an increased workload, we have an exciting opportunity for a Planning Manager to join our team. This role will suit someone with small to medium scale civil engineering infrastructure project or portfolio experience, in the NEC contract environment. Responsibilities We're looking for a Planning Manager to join our NRNN business unit. You'll manage a team of planners to deliver all programme and project controls outputs for a portfolio of works. Your day to day will include: Being the programme and planning conscience on a portfolio of water asset management works Contribute as a planning and programme subject matter expert Coach, mentor and manage a diverse planning team, working to identify individuals strengths and weaknesses, ensuring that development plans are put in place Review, and where required, produce programmes for acceptance, impact programmes, project controls dashboards, reports and programme narratives, from 1 st principles Support the commercial team to ensure accurate forecasts, with reference to programme, are produced What are we looking for? This Planning Manager is great for you if you have: Must have NEC contract-based Planning experience within heavy civil engineering contracts. Must have a full driving licence. Strong experience of managing a planning team. Good understanding of commercial and contractual matters and thorough experience and understanding of programming techniques. Competency in the use of Microsoft Project and Primavera P6.
