The Role
As a Merchandiser, you will be responsible for managing, planning and trading a product category, working closely with the Senior Merchandiser, Merchandising team and wider business to support the growth of the business.
Roles and Responsibilities
Trading
Preparing & presenting Monday Trade to key stakeholders.
Identifying & driving clear weekly trade actions for the category, using analysis to make informed decisions.
Reviewing category performance vs. forecast/budget, analysing best & worst sellers and demonstrating clear understanding on actions that need to be taken to maximise opportunity and manage risk.
Completing end of season markdown proposals.
Completing rebuys for the category through New Reaction rebuys & Line Cards.
Forecasting/Planning
Planning of budgets, creating the product strategy for the department and present to key stakeholders.
Building newness plans: option count and depth of buy based on total business strategy & goals.
Attend key selection meetings to build the range plan.
Analysing & presenting seasonal Lesson Learnt presentations.
Forecasting & managing category WSSI with a focus on key KPIs, reviewing consistently in line with current performance and using to drive further trading actions.
OTB management.
Attending WSSI meetings and presenting to key stakeholders.
Intake Management
Establish strong working relationships with Production team, supply base & Warehouse Team.
Ensuring seasonal OTB is spent & commitment is landing on time.
Overseeing AM & MAA on intake management.
Other
Establish collaborative working relationships with other business functions e.g. Garment Tech, Design, Ecom & Marketing.
Drive the development of junior members of the team, carrying out regular catch ups & reviews.
Demonstrates strong commercial awareness.
Ensures productive & collaborative relationships between merchandising function and all other business areas to ensure goals achieved.
Delivers key information at the right time, to the right people, and presents, when necessary, at high level meetings as requested by the Director’s (in absence of Senior Merchandiser).
What does good look like?
Have experience at least one years’ experience at Junior Merchandiser or Merchandiser level.
