HGV Technician needed
Location: Hayes
Our client, a prestigious truck and bus manufacturer and dealer, is seeking an HGV Technician to join their team.
Role: HGV Technician
Hours: 0600hrs to 1430hrs/1400hrs to 2230hrs; alternative Saturday mornings @ overtime, time and a half
Key responsibilities:
1. Ensure repairs are carried out according to manufacturer's procedures, safely and responsibly.
2. Ensure repairs are carried out in accordance with company's standards.
3. Assist in the fault diagnosis process.
4. Comply with warranty procedures during repairs and warranty material on completion of each repair.
5. Work with the Parts Team to ensure the correct replacement parts are fitted.
6. Road test vehicles when required (if you hold an HGV licence).
7. Assist with roadside breakdowns.
8. Ensure company time recording procedures are complied with, and that job cards are completed accurately.
9. Ensure service sheets are completed as per Volvo instructions.
10. Ensure all vehicle defects are reported to workshop controllers.
11. Keep all workshop facilities, equipment and tools clean, tidy and well maintained.
Requirements:
1. City and Guilds / NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Heavy Vehicle Repair and Maintenance.
2. Gained experience working on commercial vehicles.
3. IT literate.
4. Able to demonstrate knowledge and experience as a HGV Technician/HGV Mechanic/PSV Mechanic.
5. LGV C + E licence beneficial but not essential.
6. HGV/PSV licence an advantage.
