Salary: £66,000 / €77,000 Basic + €33,000 Bonus
We are searching for a Senior Business Development Manager with extensive experience selling SaaS to publishers. You will be responsible for establishing strategic partnerships with publishers, selling a range of marketing-leading products, and maximizing revenue opportunities.
Using your extensive experience and knowledge of the academic publishing landscape, your main focus will be on developing and executing business development strategies to drive revenue growth, increase market share, and enhance the depth and breadth of their publisher network.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Actively manage a scaling publisher business, focusing on new customer acquisition and existing customer expansion across large and medium-sized academic publishers.
2. Build and maintain strong relationships with key publishers, understanding their business goals, and identifying opportunities for collaboration and revenue generation.
3. Develop and execute a dedicated business development plan for each publisher customer.
4. Progress publisher customers through our customer journey, educating potential partners on the value proposition for their business, negotiating and finalizing agreements, onboarding, and demonstrating ongoing impact once launched.
5. Contribute to the overall business development strategy for our publisher solutions.
6. Develop a deep understanding of our publisher offerings, staying up to date on industry trends and the competitive landscape.
7. Work with our product team on the iterative and transformative improvement of our publisher value proposition.
Skills & Experience:
1. Minimum 5 years of partnership development or business development experience, ideally within a SaaS environment.
2. Extensive experience working within STM/Academic Publishing, including in-depth industry knowledge of publishers’ strategic objectives, business models, and decision-making processes.
3. Able to work in a fast-paced environment with limited direction, managing several projects at once and prospect cultivation opportunities.
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
5. Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with fluent English.
