Position: Operations Manager/Contracts Manager
Location: Manchester(office/ Site as appropriate)
Salary: £80,000 - £85,000 + package
Randstad are working alongside a specialist contractor who has extensive experience across a number of sectors including education, commercial, super-prime residential, healthcare and specialist cladding remediation. They are currently expanding into the North and are seeking an Operations/Contracts Manager to look after the projects within the North West region.
Role and responsibilities
To be responsible for multiple contracts with a portfolio of an agreed amount. To liaise with the Operations Director, Surveyors and Contracts Staff. To Carry out duties as required by the contract, to the required specification and in a competent and safe manner within the given budgetary and time constraints. To ensure each contract is managed correctly & completed to both the clients & the contracts expectations.
Main Duties
Comply in all regards with the company's objectives & process's in relation to quality assurance procedures and systems
Liaise with the Customers to ensure that projects run as smoothly as possible.
Establish effective working relationships between other Contracts Managers Supervisors, Subcontractors and Operatives
Responsible for identifying the training and development needs of your staff and providing the necessary support and action when required
Liaise and provide updates with Operations Director, Commercial Team for the internal project briefing.
Produce an initial RFI schedule and agreed Construction Programme
Liaise with the Commercial Team to ensure that contracts are planned to achieve the target margin.
Ensure that an accurate procurement schedule is produced and updated throughout the contract produce Contract Programmes for approval, in an agreed format using ASTA power project and ensure that progress is regularly benchmarked, and corrective action taken as required.
Liaise with the Directors and other Contracts Managers regarding procurement of labour and plant equipment and material.Skills and Qualifications
IT literacy including Word, Excel & Email (Intermediate level)
Asta projects programme or equivalent software skill at a proficient level.
Minimum HNC or HND qualification
CIOB or RICS membership and affiliation (preferred)
Analytical & problem-solving skills
Employment Law
NVQ Level 7 (CSCS Black Card Holder)
5 day CITB Health & Safety Qualification
