This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Adult Social Services Team.
We pay an attractive salary of £37,938 - £40,476 and offer access to training and development opportunities.
An exciting opportunity has arisen in the North Community Mental Health Team as we are looking to recruit one full time Social Worker to a permanent position.
The Team is co-located with Aneurin Bevan University Health Board colleagues at the North Integrated Health and Social Care Centre in Rhymney and we work with service users aged 18 and over who have mental health needs.
The successful candidate will be required to practice in accordance with National Occupational Standards for Social Work and Code of Practice for Social Care Workers to deliver assessment and care management services. You will need to have a good understanding of current legislation and policy. You will be required to work closely with individuals, carers, team members and other professionals or alone using your own initiative.
The postholder will be required to support and safeguard vulnerable service users through difficult periods in their lives. You will take part in a duty rota alongside health colleagues dealing with crisis situations and you will facilitate safe discharge for service users from hospital into the community.
For the role, we ask that you have:
A Diploma / Degree in Social Work or predecessor qualification.
A Successful completion of the CPEL Framework Consolidation of Practice programme within the first three years of practice (if qualified after 1st April 2016).
Knowledge of the Social Services and Well-being Act (Wales), Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity and Deprivation of Liberty legislation.
A full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business / work purposes to travel throughout the borough to attend meetings / transport clients / visit clients at their home.
