A farm shop that offers a wide range of products sourced from British speciality producers, local artisans and the Windsor Farms is looking for a dedicated Assistant Butcher to be based at their butchery in Old Windsor. As an Assistant Butcher, you’ll play a key part in preparing the ready-to-cook range, such as roast dinner trays, stir fry mixes, casseroles, and marinades. If you have the experience, you’ll also assist with butchering cuts for the counter as required. This is a full-time, 40-hour role until the end of December, working 5 out of 7 days, including some weekend shifts. Windsor Farm Shop’s operating times are: Monday – Saturday: 9am—4:30 pm, Sunday: 10 am—4pm You’ll need experience in a chef role, ideally from a restaurant background at Chef de Partie level or higher. A solid understanding of different meat cuts, including terminology for pork, beef, and lamb, and how to cook each one to perfection is essential. You’ll be a fast worker, demonstrating excellent customer service skills while managing multiple tasks. A Level 2 Hygiene qualification (preferably HACCP) is required, and any experience with breaking down animals (e.g. pigs, deer, lamb, poultry, or game) would be a bonus.
