This is an exciting opportunity for a GP with a special interest in improving health care to those service users who identify as Trans or Non-Binary.
This post will involve working within an established team of medics, nurses, and AHP's, providing assessment, diagnosis, and interventions to service users. An effective MDT with support from Endocrinology and national Leads for Gender Healthcare assists with complex cases and decision-making. This is coupled with training in this specialist area from the RCP.
The role is predominantly delivered digitally, and as such, applicants who wish to work remotely will be considered.
The Cheshire and Merseyside Area Gender Identity Collaborative (CMAGIC), delivered by Mersey Care, is an NHSE 2-year pilot and will provide comprehensive primary care-based medical interventions for those who identify as Transgender, Non-Binary, or Gender Incongruent. We are looking to appoint a GP or GPs providing 2 sessions per week, where the post-holder will provide clinical assessment, diagnosis, and medical interventions, alongside referring or signposting to appropriate services and agencies, such as Endocrinology, SALT, and Psychology.
Applicants must be fully registered with the GMC and on the GMC’s GP Register. Applicants should have proven experience or a specialist interest in working with people with gender dysphoria and a clinical background appropriate for the prescribing and monitoring of relevant medical interventions, such as hormone therapy.

At the heart of all we do is our commitment to ‘perfect care’ – care that is safe, effective, positively experienced, timely, equitable, and efficient. We support our staff to do the best job they can and work alongside service users, their families, and carers to design and develop future services together. We’re currently delivering a programme of organisational and service transformation to significantly improve the quality of the services we provide and safely reduce cost as we do so.
