Senior Reporter – Legal Publishing
Location: Hybrid (1 day in the office), London
Leading legal publisher seeks a talented senior reporter to join their London based team. Our client is the leading practice-area research and rankings, insights, and awards provider for global law firms.
Their focus on financial & corporate, litigation, intellectual property, and tax provides differentiation and intelligence for practitioners who depend on highly specialised, cross-border collaboration between law firms and corporate counsel.
Role:
The primary function of the role is writing news, analysis, trends, Q&As, and other pieces for their subscription-based website and weekly newsletters. This role requires regular interaction with sources – the successful candidate is expected to be out in the field meeting contacts, attending industry events, chasing down leads, and producing daily articles.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Pitch, report and write daily articles for our client’s audience of primarily law firms;
2. Support on strategic projects and milestone awards ceremonies;
3. Stay abreast of the latest business of law and financial-legal news and understand the impact on law firms;
4. Develop and maintain good relationships with key members of the industry, conducting regular calls and meetings;
5. Help boost their subscription engagement with impactful coverage.
Experience Required:
1. Strong interest in developments at the intersection of finance and law;
2. 1-2 years of experience as a reporter ideally within the legal market;
3. Degree Educated – minimum of a 2:1 from a Russell Group university;
4. Willingness to learn about complex subjects quickly;
5. Previous journalism experience;
6. Strong communication and language skills and storytelling ability;
7. Excellent written and spoken English;
8. Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
