Job Details Older People’s Services has 8 residential services across Fife, with a team based in each service. You can view each of the service locations, listed at the top of this advert, and will be asked to provide your location preference at interview. The successful candidate will work on a relief / casual basis within the care home which includes, early shifts, late shifts and a period of night duty, unsocial hours will be paid at basic rate plus 1/3 hourly rate. An exciting opportunity has arisen for skilled and enthusiastic individuals to join our care home team in Fife Council’s Residential and Day Services. We are looking for motivated and driven individuals with good values and a genuine interest in the care and support of older people within the care homes. This will involve providing positive support and encouragement for people to make their own choices and decisions in all aspects of their daily lives, as well as providing flexible support to enable the service users to access activities and achieve their personal outcomes. This will involve promoting social inclusion by working with people to maximise their personal independence, health, wellbeing and access service opportunities in their local communities. The care homes in Fife provide ongoing care and support to vulnerable older people: the care home also supports a respite, STAR unit and a day service. The Person Must have or be able to work towards the required qualification as required by the Scottish Social Services Council. Within the timeframes set at point of registration, once qualification achieved it is the person's responsibility to inform Scottish Social Services Council accordingly. Provide care and support which meets the Health and Social Care standards. Must be able to work with other Council services and partner agencies to support the effective planning and delivery of care and support within our service. You should be able to work flexibly and creatively within a dynamic and ambitious team. Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme. As this role requires SSSC registration, the successful applicant will have three months to apply for registration.
