Group Accounts Payable Manager - St Albans, UK Head Office
As the Group Accounts Payable Manager, you will play a critical role in managing the company's accounts payable function. The purpose of this role is work closely with Accounts Payable and Employee Expense Team Leaders, who will report directly to you, to drive continuous process improvement.
While the Team Leaders will manage day-to-day workflow and performance reviews of the team members, you will play an integral part in ensuring deadlines are adhered to. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, who has previously managed Team Leaders and who has an understanding of accounts payable operations in the construction industry.

You will be:
1. Managing the Employee Expense, Accounts Payable (AP) and Payment Team Leaders, through clear communication of responsibilities, provide guidance, training & development when required and proactive performance management.
2. Overseeing the end-to-end Employee Expense and AP processes, including employee expense claim processing and audit, invoice verification, payment processing, and reconciliation.
3. Developing and implement procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
4. Collaborating with procurement and site project teams to ensure seamless approval and payment processes.
5. Maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders, addressing any payment-related issues or inquiries promptly.
6. Developing, maintaining and monitoring AP & Employee Expense key performance indicators (KPIs), identifying areas for improvement.
7. Providing insights and recommendations based on industry best practices.
8. Ensuring compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and accounting standards.
9. Participating in audits and provide necessary documentation and support to auditors
You will have:
10. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferable.
11. A minimum of 3 years of experience in managing muliple teams within Accounts AP
12. A Proven track record of reviewing and improving AP & Employee Expense processes and systems.
13. Strong understanding of accounting principles and accounts payable processes and best practices.
14. Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with construction-specific software is a plus.
15. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with ability to meet tight deadlines.
16. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
