An exciting opportunity is here for the SET CAMHS Eating Disorder Service.
We are looking for a senior clinician to support the development and implementation of a range of interventions for the SET CAMHS Eating Disorder Service.
The post holder will work with another Clinical Lead and Team Manager to help support the delivery of psychological support across the service. They will be responsible for assessment, treatment, outcome measurement, and provide clinical supervision to staff as well as development.
This post would suit clinicians with extensive experience in working with young people who present with complexity and significant levels of distress, working with the wider systems including education, social care, and family/carers.
As a senior clinician within the service, you will bring highly developed knowledge of specialist therapeutic assessment, formulation, intervention skills, and specific knowledge and expertise in psychological interventions.
This is an exciting time to join the SET CAMHS Eating Disorder Service as we have recently been commissioned to develop and offer an Intensive Support Programme for young people to prevent tier 4 admissions.
We are currently meeting all waiting time standards and offer an excellent package of care.
Main duties of the job
We are seeking an individual who has experience in working with children and young people with eating disorders and their families and is passionate about delivering good quality, patient-led care. We will support candidates to develop skills in delivering evidence-based treatment. Families are at the heart of all of the work we do, and the intensive pathway will fit with the current evidence-based treatment approach, namely the Maudsley family-based treatment.
The intensive community treatment pathway is also being developed within our service. The role will involve a mixture of face-to-face working which will need to be offered in response to the demands of the service. This is a developing service which we will continue to evaluate against the needs of the families and young people accessing the service.
The applicant will work alongside colleagues within the MDT to provide NICE concordant psychological interventions to young people and families with eating disorders and comorbid presentations. In addition, our team has pioneered the integration of FT-AN for eating disorders within the UK. As a member of the CAMHS ED team, you would have access to specialist supervision in FT-AN. Supervision will be offered by a senior member of the team from the same discipline where possible. There will be access to regular individual and group supervision and safeguarding supervision.
