Overall Objective: To lead and manage projects from their initial conception through to client handover – including close liaison through pre-construction phase with design consultants To ensure schemes are completed within timescales, budgetary requirements and most importantly safely, to the highest standards Motivate and lead others to successfully deliver construction projects to completion Working within the collaborative Frameworks team but fundamentally part of our Environment Agency and NWG environmental delivery team in and around watercourses carry out civil engineering activities Develop and maintain sustainable options across all projects to drive down carbon production and promote sustainability from cradle to grave Report and monitor a high level of Key Performance Indicators across all projects Lead the development of early concept design all the through to construction stage Develop and produce the supporting evidence and information to assist the bid team when building a tender submission to win competitive tenders. Key Accountabilities: To ensure schemes are completed to the highest level of safety within timescales, budgetary requirements and to the highest standards Plan and schedule workforce requirements for internal resources and Sub contractors, ensuring adequate resources for holidays/peaks in workload Monitor and manage project programme to ensure progress to plan Promote and present Esh Construction Ltd in a positive manner to all client’s and members of the public Ensure timely submission of key reporting requirements for internal and client systems Monitor and control preliminary costs, working closely with Commercial department to ensure maximum efficiency of delivery Monitor and manage work to ensure quality of overall products Ensure site/workforce is compliant with Health & Safety regulations at all times Anticipate potential problems and take responsibility to move the scheme forward Establish good working relations with clients, design partners and staff, ensuring communication is clear, appropriate and effective at all levels Use customer/client information to tailor services to meet individual needs Conduct day to day line management duties effectively following Esh Group policies and procedures (including recruitment/selection; induction; training; appraisals; absence management; disciplinary and grievance) Prepare and submit site timely and accurate reports It is not possible for this document to totally encompass or define all tasks that may be required of the post holder. Experience & Qualifications: Experience working to and within the Safety, Health, Environment and Wellbeing (SHEW) Code of Practice Working in and around live water courses, standing water and tidal experience Ecological / Biodiversity training and working in the built environment In depth knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety Experience of working within a Framework arena, specifically with Northumbrian Water Group and the Environment Agency Framework Previous experience of managing projects, with multi-disciplinary workforce Experience of managing both Direct and Subcontract workforce Experience of Wastewater Projects with a proven track record of delivering to time and budget Managing, maintaining and promoting a positive relationship with the client and their representative’s Good financial awareness Excellent communication skills Good IT skills Experience of working in the public arena with good customer communication skills Awareness road opening / noticing regulations and requirements Desired qualifications: HNC / NVQ level 5 or equivalent in Construction Management, CSCS Card, SMSTS, Environmental Waste Management, Confined Spaces.
