You will be working for an independent, director-led practice that works with business owners and directors at every stage of their business lives, from start-up through to growth and consolidation and on to succession and exit strategies. They also advise clients on personal financial and tax planning issues, to help them achieve security and peace of mind, now and for the future, for themselves and their families.
As a Business Services Senior, you will be working in close collaboration with the other members of the team to provide a reliable outsourced management accounting service for clients. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Completing Monthly Management accounts for clients on various systems and using Excel;
2. Reviewing annual bookkeeping and identifying issues or making suggestions on better practice;
3. Completing new client bookkeeping set-ups and Xero set-ups;
4. Supporting clients on Bookkeeping, teaching them how to correct items;
5. Completing ad hoc messy Bookkeeping jobs;
6. Reviewing Bookkeeping Work completed by juniors;
7. Preparing cash flow forecasts weekly, monthly, and annually;
8. Reviewing VAT returns and reconciling Clients Trial balances and correcting any issues.
You could be working in the office or at clients' sites, depending on the work you are carrying out.
The successful candidate will ideally be AAT qualified or ACCA part-qualified and must demonstrate at least 3 years of bookkeeping experience. You will need to be an experienced Xero user and able to use the software effectively and confidently. If you have worked in accountancy practice before, that would be ideal, but not essential. You will require clear written and spoken communication skills with both clients and colleagues, as well as strong and effective organisation skills and a methodical approach to your work. Effective prioritisation skills are essential, as you will need to adapt your approach to achieve multiple deadlines and work independently without close supervision.
In return, you will receive a competitive salary and benefits package along with the flexibility to work wherever the job in hand requires you to be. There is a very supportive culture in operation at the firm, and they are always striving to take care of their staff in all respects.
If this sounds like the sort of opportunity you are looking for, and you have the required experience in accountancy practice, please apply straight away or feel free to contact Debbie Stent directly on 07900 224915 for a confidential career discussion about this and/or other opportunities that may be available to you.
Please note that sponsorship is not available for this position, so you will need to have the right to work in the UK without sponsorship.
