The role will enable you to deliver administrative and advisory services and processing activity to the BBC workforce including providing information, managing data and completing process delivery. Further, the role advises the workforce based on information received, knowledge of policy and process; understands issues and manages them accordingly. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES What will you be doing on the apprenticeship? As a HR Support Apprentice you will have the opportunity to join an exciting BBC team while developing your skills in areas like: Attention to detail Effective administrative skills Working with data Problem solving Teamwork Managing HR information and systems Dealing with confidential information Interpersonal and Communication Skills What will you be studying? You'll study for your industry recognised apprenticeship qualification, learning both on and off the job. Alongside your on-the-job experience, you'll study for your HR Support Level 3 apprenticeship qualification. The programme consists of online teaching, coaching and workplace development. On successful completion of your apprenticeship,you'll be well equipped to apply for a role as a HR coordinator, advisor or administrator. This scheme will provide you with a good foundation for a successful career in any element of HR including Learning & Development, Talent Acquisition and General HR. This scheme starts in September 2025, and you will be on a fixed term contract which means your contract is for the duration of the apprenticeship only. The duration of this scheme is 18 months. To be eligible for an apprenticeship at the BBC, you must: Be aged 18 or over when the apprenticeship starts in September 2025 By the start of the apprenticeship in September 2025, have lived in the UK or European Economic Area (EEA) for a minimum of 3 years. Be eligible to work in the UK full time for the duration of the apprenticeship contract. Not currently taking part in an apprenticeship scheme supported by the BBC or another organisation. To apply for this scheme, you must also: Have achieved Maths and English GCSE at Grade 4/C or above or National 5 (Scotland) at C or equivalent qualification. If you have not achieved English and Maths at Level 2 by the start of your apprenticeship you will be required to achieve this, before the end of your apprenticeship when you take your end-point assessment. Not already have a Level 3 or higher qualification in Human Resources, Recruitment, or a similar discipline. A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THE PLACEMENTS Roles are on offer for this apprenticeship across several different teams, including: Contingent workforce (Freelancers): Freelancers are an integral part of the overall workforce at the BBC in on-air, off-air and business support capacities, enabling the creation of the content that informs, educates and entertains our audiences. They are supported by the Contingent Workforce team, a crucial part of the People Services function at the BBC. We interpret complex policies and legislation to provide advice and guidance through all stages of the engagement process. Responsible also for the end to end engagement lifecycle, we work closely with Production and Non-Production areas and freelancers themselves to support through the moments that matter and manage all elements of the process. People Operations: As part of the apprenticeship within the People Services team we offer candidates the opportunity to work in a variety of our central HR teams. This includes getting experience of the systems which support our work, understanding the people process we transact, how we provide advice and guidance to both employees and team leaders. Over the 18 months within our teams, apprentice will experience a true generalist remit to support their future careers.
