Purpose of Post:
To deliver lectures for the relevant subjects (per course/programme requirements), during term time.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. To deliver undergraduate and foundation courses so that:
2. Students are challenged but also tutored and supported with individual care.
3. Teaching and learning techniques are innovative and inspiring.
4. Students are supervised appropriately.
5. Assessment criteria are appropriate and fairly applied, with results fed back to students appropriately.
6. Module content is continuously reviewed to identify areas for improvement.
Teaching will involve:
1. Writing lecture materials and handouts and presenting information in lectures.
2. Delivering seminars, workshops, and tutorials.
3. Marking student papers.
4. Contributing to the departmental planning team, to determine the teaching programme for the academic year.
5. Taking feedback from students to improve teaching methodologies and content within the department.
6. Providing guidance and advice to students e.g., career advice and/or pastoral care.
Teaching Delivery:
Conventional and/or Online or Blended.
Other General College Duties:
1. Work flexibly as part of the College team to ensure the smooth running of the College’s premises and facilities.
2. Participate actively and flexibly in a range of College-wide activities, such as duty rotas, enrolment, and marketing events.
3. Participate in training and team development activities, to develop and update skills and knowledge.
4. Understand and be committed to the College’s health and safety Policy statement and the College’s safety priorities and be aware of your contribution to them.
5. Be aware of the College’s equality policies and demonstrate commitment and enthusiasm to promote the principle of equality and diversity throughout all aspects of your work.
6. Be familiar with safeguarding requirements as outlined in the College’s policies and comply with its requirements to safeguard and protect the welfare of young people and vulnerable adults.
7. Undertake such additional duties or projects as directed by the directors or senior managers of the College.
