Job Title: Highways Quantity Surveyor
Contract: Permanent
Location: Head Office in Bolton, with travel to sites across the North West.
Salary: Up to £50,000
Working Hours: 42.5 hours per week
Monday to Friday: 08:00 - 17:00 (30-minute unpaid lunch break)
Holidays: 35 days, including bank holidays (7 days allocated to Christmas shutdown)

Key Responsibilities:
1. Safeguard the financial interests of the business while maintaining strong working relationships with stakeholders.
2. Conduct site measurements and prepare weekly cost and production reports.
3. Prepare cost forecasts and collaborate with site teams on quotations and estimates.
4. Oversee subcontractor management, including order placement, payment assessments, and rate negotiations.
5. Produce and submit valuations to clients.
6. Interpret drawings and collaborate with teams to finalize estimates.
7. Negotiate and agree on final accounts with stakeholders in a timely manner.
8. Monitor stock control and provide financial reports.
9. Assist with the preparation and settlement of accounts and support financial reporting processes.
10. Maintain accurate and up-to-date project records.
Candidate Requirements:
Qualifications:
· QS Degree or equivalent.
Essential Skills & Experience:
· Experience in civil engineering, specifically in highways and structures.
· Proficiency in working with private and public sector clients and familiarity with NEC (primarily) and JCT contract forms.
· Commercially aware with strong people management skills to support and mentor colleagues.
· Comprehensive understanding of project components and construction costs.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
· Demonstrated ambition and drive to provide high-quality professional services.
· Proficiency in IT tools such as Office, Outlook, and measurement software.
· Strong organizational skills, self-motivation, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
