About The Role
Part-time vacancies available / Sleep-ins / Guaranteed overtime!!!
Support Asia started delivering care and support services over 10 years ago. We initially entered this field with a view to delivering cultural services to the Asian communities, where there was a clear lack of culturally sensitive services. This is the reason we chose the name Support Asia. Due to the high standards and excellent services we provide, we were approached to serve other communities and not just the Asian communities. We are proud to say that we currently deliver services to people from all ethnic backgrounds, including White and Black communities.
The care sector is such a rich and rewarding place to work. There is variety in your work and in the roles available. You do not have to be a carer to make a meaningful difference in our service users' lives. We want the kindest, most resilient people to come and support our service users. No two days will be the same, and you will receive the learning and development you need to thrive.
As a Carer at Support Asia, you will value kindness above all. It touches upon every aspect of our service including care delivered to people with:
1. Physical health problems
2. Learning disabilities
3. Autism
4. Brain Injury
5. Dementia
6. Helping the elderly
Every single person who works here understands that our service users are people just like them with their own stories to tell. By joining us, you will have a wonderful opportunity to give something back to those people.
Right now, we are looking for enthusiastic and committed Care and Support Workers to join our team. Our focus is on providing the highest quality service at all times. We provide 24-hour supported living which includes days, nights, waking nights, and sleep-ins.
Do you fit this role? Become a key worker and make a difference.
We are committed to providing the quickest possible turnaround from the point of making you a job offer to you starting with us from day one.
About You
As a carer under the guidance of a project manager, you will be taking responsibility for the physical and emotional well-being and social needs of our service users. This includes assisting service users with personal care, planning everyday activities, assisting with personal hygiene, assisting with meals, medication, and integrating service users into the community.
Being a culturally sensitive service, we need staff who can cook any of the following cultural meals, speak the following languages, and have an understanding of cultural events:
Meals:
1. Traditional English foods including a full English breakfast, Toad in the Hole, Sunday roast dinner, Stew, hotpot, casserole
2. Caribbean and African foods including plantain, jerk chicken, salt fish, curry goat, jollof rice, Garri
3. Asian foods including curries and chapattis
Languages:
1. Fluent English
2. Caribbean and African languages
3. All Asian languages
Cultural Events:
1. British events including Christmas, Easter, Halloween, St. Paddy’s Day
2. Caribbean and African events including Black History Month, Carnivals, music festivals
3. Asian events including Diwali, Eid, Lohri, Ramadan
Delivering a level of care that truly comes from the heart is essential. It is about making sure our service users never lose their dignity or sense of individuality. Whether you are helping someone with limited mobility to learn to use an aid, offering emotional support to a confused or distressed service user, or delivering care to someone who lacks complete capacity, you will always have their well-being in mind above anything else.
