ABOUT THE ROLE
My client is currently seeking a Senior Estimator to work in the bid winning team on projects that will range in value from £5M – to £500M. The projects will range in location from Scotland down to the South of England but you will be based in Swindon. The types of projects that you will be working on will all be Heavy Civil Engineering projects including Highways Infrastructure, Marine infrastructure, tunnelling infrastructure & Train Station upgrades. You will be joining an experienced team who have been with the company for several years. You will be reporting to the head of bid management and will be working in a team that collaborates with Bid Managers, planners, procurement, technical services, HSQE and operational teams. A lot of the Pre Construction team come from an Engineering background so you’ll be working around technical professionals with a wealth of knowledge on how things are built, which should continue to improve your development. Due to the long-term stability of all the members of staff within the Pre-Construction team, they are looking for somebody who can bring fresh ideas and new ways of thinking to help them on their tenders. The Pre-Construction team are extremely friendly, sociable, and very close with each other, they have a strong family feel about them.
The role will include:
1. regular meetings with key stakeholders and sub-contractors to build strong relationships.
2. prepare presentations and lead mid-bid presentations and post-submission presentations.
3. Liaise with the bid team.
4. Attend pre and post-award meetings with clients to facilitate the operational and commercial handover of the project.
REQUIREMENTS
5. Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (would be preferred).
6. Previous experience working in a site related role but have moved into the Pre-Construction department (would be preferred)
7. Experience working for a Tier one main contractor within Civil Engineering.
8. 2 years’ experience working as a Senior Estimator & 8 years experience working within Civil Engineering & Infrastructure.
9. UK driving license.

The successful candidate will be rewarded with a competitive salary ranging between £55,000 – £65,000 with the package you will get either a company car or a car allowance, private health care, and a pension.
