Job overview
Do you think you might have the X-Ray factor?
Interventional Radiology Theatres at Hull Royal Infirmary has a highly-regarded vascular, neuro-vascular and non-vascular interventional service with unrivalled resources, and a committed, professional team of Radiologists, Radiographers and Nurses. This also includes a regional mechanical thrombectomy service for stroke patients.
We are now looking to recruit Band 5 Staff Nurses to join our team, with full training, mentorship and support provided to those who display the right qualities, and a genuine interest in radiology nursing.
Our department typically operates Monday-Friday, with a 24 hour on call emergency service, which you’ll be required to contribute to following initial training and a successful assessment. For this reason, all our team live within 30 minutes of HRI and preferably have their own transport.
This is an incredible opportunity to meet a new challenge in a growing speciality with the support of a remarkable team who’ll help you to reach your full potential. Informal visit is not only welcomed but highly recommended.
For an informal chat, call Richard Horsfield, Charge Nurse, on 01482 675667.
Main duties of the job
Nursing care of patients undergoing interventional radiological procedures. Scrubbing and circulating for procedures, recovery of patients in the day unit. Administration of intravenous medications and conscious sedation. Performing pre-assessments.
Working for our organisation
The Humber Health Partnership is one of the largest acute and community Partnership arrangements in the NHS, seeing well over one million patients every year and managing a budget of over £1.3 billion.
Made up of two Trusts - Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust (NLAG) and Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (HUTH) - our Partnership has significant ambitions and is committed to delivering world-class hospital and community services for the 1.65 million people we serve.
Together we employ nearly 20,000 staff. Our five main hospital sites are Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital, Scunthorpe General Hospital and Goole and District Hospital, for NLAG and Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital for HUTH.
As Teaching Hospitals working with the Hull York Medical School, we both lead and contribute to research in many areas - biomedical research, primary care, palliative medicine, cardiovascular and respiratory medicine, vascular surgery, cancer surgery and oncology.
We believe that by developing a diverse, inclusive, innovative, skilled and caring workforce, we can deliver excellent care to our patients and a great future for our employees, our Partnership and our community.
