SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator)
Location: Chesterfield
Start Date: January 2024 or ASAP
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent (Initially pay-rolled through Tradewind Recruitment)
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SENCO to join our vibrant primary school in Chesterfield. Our school includes a nursery and an Integrated Resource Unit that supports children with additional needs. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified and experienced professional to make a real difference in the lives of primary-aged children.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage the school's Special Educational Needs provision.
* Work closely with the Integrated Resource Unit to support children with complex needs, including those with challenging behaviour.
* Collaborate with teachers, support staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for all pupils.
* Develop and implement strategies to address the challenges faced by children with additional needs.
* Provide training and guidance to staff on inclusive practices and SEND-related matters.
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
* National Award for SEN Coordination (SENCO Qualification).
* Extensive understanding of the challenges faced by primary-aged children with additional needs, including those with behavioural difficulties.
* A proven track record of working with children with SEND, demonstrating empathy, resilience, and strong leadership skills.
