The successful candidate will benefit from an enhanced salary which will attract out of hours additional payments at 30 and 60% according to the shifts worked.
The post holder is responsible for working with our patients to ensure that they are optimised pre and post operatively so that their recovery is swift and allows for appropriate discharge in an optimised state. The challenges are significant working across boundaries so the post holder needs to be resilient and possess excellent communication skills.
Main Duties of the Job
To work across the Spencer Private Hospital (SPH) sites as a physiotherapist responsible for providing a high standard of assessment, diagnosis, evaluation, treatment and advice to patients within inpatient and outpatient physiotherapy service.
Administration of Patient Care Includes:
1. Assisting patients with all aspects of physiotherapy need
2. Assisting with mobilisation and repositioning
3. Referral to agency partners as required
4. Working within the MDT

Key Responsibilities
Clinical
1. To undertake a comprehensive assessment and formulate an expert diagnosis of patients who may have complex conditions including multi pathology.
2. To work as an autonomous practitioner taking responsibility for the management of patients on own caseload without direct supervision.
3. To evaluate clinical practice through reflection, audit and outcome measures, individually, locally or within specialist interest groups in order to continually improve physiotherapy service to patients and promote evidence-based practice.
4. Maintain patient documentation, records and accurate statistical information to reflect care provided and to meet professional standards and hospital policies.
Financial
1. To ensure all patients are seen in the allocated time on the ward and outpatient and units of treatment recorded and shared with the appropriate departments in a timely manner.
2. To ensure that the physiotherapy department resources, equipment and appliances are used efficiently and economically.
Business Development
1. To actively participate with the organisation of the physiotherapy marketing strategy.
2. To contribute to service development and change through liaison with physiotherapy manager.
Quality
1. To actively participate in service improvement initiatives such as in planned research and audit.
2. To continue to develop specialist clinical skills, knowledge and experience through practice in a range of clinical settings.
Infection Control
1. To undertake all mandatory and essential training in Infection Prevention and Control.
2. To communicate any identified infection risks to the Infection Prevention and Control leads.
Health and Safety
1. To ensure all health and safety audits carried out in accordance with the planned programme.
Workforce
1. To work as part of the multidisciplinary team (MDT) in the provision of a high standard of care to the patients.
2. Responsible for communication of complex, sensitive information to all levels of trained/untrained staff, clients and their families and carers.
Technology and Administrative Duties
1. Use of computer software/hardware to input and analyse data/documents as appropriate.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* BSc/Equivalent in Physiotherapy
* Member of CSP
* HCPC Registration.
* Evidence of further training relevant to speciality e.g. Post Graduate Courses
Experience
* Extensive relevant post graduate experience.
* Previous work in a hospital and outpatient MSK setting.
* Proven clinical experience in the delivery of orthopaedic and MSK physiotherapy.
Skills
* Excellent communication skills.
* Good interpersonal skills.
* Time and caseload management.
* Good IT skills.
* Organisational/ability to work independently.
