Job Description
We are working with a leading multi-national engineering business with a strong presence delivering across the high value technical engineer sectors who are looking for a mechanical lead to work on a brand new data centre in south wales. Reporting to a campus lead, you will join from pre-construction phase, taking control of the sizeable mechanical packages, leading a large team through the scheme to PC.\n\nMechanical Lead Duties:\n\n * Support in the oversight of all day-to-day site operations.\n\n * Direct management of the project team, including alignment of all discipline, leads to the benefit of project goals.\n\n * Play a lead role in the management of Site QA in conjunction with the QA Manager.\n\n * Assist and lead in the management of Site Safety in conjunction with the project team and the Safety management.\n\n * Ensure change management is handled correctly (Cost & Programme)\n\n * Liaise with the client and establish a trusting relationship to ensure future project opportunities.\n\n * To manage and drive a large team to meet all project requirements and deadlines\n\n * Ensuring all Subcontractor documentation, including safety documentation, is maintained up to date and filed for future reference.\n\n * Assist in projected labour projections from the field supervisors.\n\n * Assist with the commercial team to ensure all variations are been captured and costs issued to the client.\n\nEssential Criteria:\n\n * Good strong knowledge of the full design and construction process\n\n * Ability to control and manage people and programs\n\n * An Engineering Degree would be of advantage\n\n * Proven record of co-ordinating and managing large projects\n\n * Mission critical experience\n\n * Pipefitting or plumbing trade backgrounds also considered\n\n * Commercially astute\n\n * Strong on design\n\n * Competent working to aggressive programmes\n\nThis is an opportunity to join a leading contractor to work on one of the most notable schemes being delivered in the UK
