Job Advert
Falkirk Council is seeking to recruit an individual who is a highly skilled practitioner, committed to delivering the very best experiences for our children and young people.
This role involves the successful candidate working within the ASN Service (Central Team) and line managed by Team Manager ASN.
You will support the work of Falkirk Council ASN Transitions Team to improve transitions for young people with ASN or a disability into adulthood. You should have knowledge and experience of working with children with ASN or a disability. You must be motivated to support people to lead full and positive lives by operating in a person-centred capacity.
You must have the ability to be mobile across the council area.
The key policy document for Falkirk schools is Learning to Achieve. This was co-created by headteachers, teachers, early years practitioners, support staff, parents/carers, pupils and other partners.
It sets out clearly our expectations for our staff, namely that they are practitioners who demonstrate commitment to meeting the needs of all learners by:
1. reflecting critically on their practice
2. being proactive in seeking professional learning opportunities that further enhance their skills and knowledge
3. adopting flexible, creative approaches to meet the needs of all learners
4. using current educational thinking to inform their practice
5. making good use of professional collaboration in school and beyond
6. communicating effectively with others
Successful applicants who progress to the next stage of the recruitment process will be invited to attend an interview.
You will work 18.5 hours per week on a term time basis.
This post is temporary until June due to a temporary project.
Successful applicants for posts working with children or vulnerable adults will be subject to disclosure checks or the new PVG scheme.
Applicants are encouraged to be explicit in detailing their skills, experience and attributes that they can bring to this post.
