Commercial Manager/Senior Commercial Manager We have an exciting new opportunity for a Commercial Manager or Senior Commercial Manager to join our strategic projects team involved in delivering the nation's flagship and critical infrastructure projects, working closely and supporting our Commercial Director to deliver commercial performance on complex high value projects across the UK. This is a permanent staff position with NG Bailey, and can be based from any of our UK office locations, however there will be travel required to our project sites. Responsibilities Key deliverables in this role are: Ensure that our safety first and foremost message is visible and alive through all activities. Provide leadership to the commercial team, maximising potential of both the teams and the individuals within them. Monitor and manage the commercial performance of the project and project commercial staff, ensuring they achieve objectives. Build and maintain high level mutually beneficial customer, key supplier and vendor relationships. Promote the business and seek out new opportunities Provide prompt communication and carry out negotiations as required to improve our commercial and financial position. Attend and chair contract reviews, being responsible for accuracy and integrity of costs and values forecasting. Carry out negotiations with customers on contract terms, valuation of works, and final account settlement. Manage the ongoing commercial aspects of subcontracts, including terms and conditions. Assist the Commercial Director with preparation and updating of business plans and local management accounts. Manage the commercial aspects of all business development and focus win activities, evaluating risks and opportunities during the work wining process. Take responsibility for accuracy and rationality of all project risks and opportunities, identifying mitigation and enhancement, and reporting back to the business. Be responsible for the submission of applications for payment, reporting to the finance function on when and how much is to be received. Ensure payment is received in line with the contract. Ensure all records are generated and maintained, using where required to avoid or manage disputes. Work with project commercial teams to prepare the commercial plan, ensuring all identified contract obligations, conditions precedent and risks are communicated and understood by the project team. Direct and advise on all matters of dispute resolution.
