Family and Safeguarding Worker
Location : Gillingham
Salary: A GBP 24,000 per annum

Reporting directly to the Service Manager, the post holder will undertake recovery work with families impacted by addiction, addressing and supporting a wide range of support needs. The post holder will also liaise with other recovery workers to support the overall coordination of the individual clients treatment and promote whole family recovery.
The post holder will provide support to management and be required to engage and liaise with the local Safeguarding Lead and work in partnership with carers and family support agencies.
What you will be doing?
General Duties:
* To work flexibly in a variety of settings to create care that meets the needs of the service, service users and their families in line with the recovery agenda
* To hold a small caseload of safeguarding service users
* Develop service user led recovery plans that are comprehensive, person centred and individualised
* Involve service users and their families/advocates in the planning of their care
* Complete accurate, person centred and individualised risk assessments
* Reflect the structure and aims of the substance misuse model of Psychosocial interventions
* Where necessary and appropriate to carry out outreach/home visits to ensure service users health and wellbeing is safeguarded.
Specific Responsibilities
Therapeutic:
* Facilitate structured key working sessions with individual clients and their family members
* To lead the co:ordination and facilitation of the MPACT programme
* To lead the coordination and facilitation of other Forward programmes and structured interventions as required, such as Relationships Matter
* To lead and co:ordinate the implementation and delivery of any other programmes developed in the future
* Regularly review and where required, update comprehensive assessments, recovery plans and risk assessments
* Provide person centred care that reflects the choices of service users in a safe environment that maintains their dignity and wellbeing
* Provide an environment that is free from abuse or neglect, observing agreed Safeguarding practices
* Identifying and promoting appropriate opportunities for service users to engage with their community (e.g Training and Education, Employment, Volunteering etc)
Safeguarding:
* To work alongside team leaders and the service manager to carry out safeguarding audits and to ensure actions are completed
* Support service manager to review, amend and maintain safeguarding
* processes at the service
* To support service manager to keep the team up to date with new safeguarding developments
* To support team leaders and service manager with new staff inductions : safeguarding
* To produce monthly safeguarding performance report for the service
Partnership Working:
* Work closely with the Family and Young People (YP) department to deliver high quality support to clients and family members/CSOs.
* To work closely with other Forward staff, communicating regularly and effectively to ensure clients and family members/CSOs received a holistic package of care and support.
* Actively network with external organisations, developing close referral and signposting relationships with specialist services, to enhance the package of care and support for the people we work with.
* Attend events as required to raise the profile of the organisation and highlight the family work we do.
* Work closely with MASH team and to ensure service responds to MASH requests as per contractual requirements
