Settlement Technician – Operations Support Team
Job Title - Settlement Technician
Location - Chatham, London — On-site attendance required at least three days per week.
Contract - Permanent
Shift Pattern - Monday – Friday – 9am-5.30pm
Job Description:
Velonetic represents the joint ventures between DXC Technology, the International Underwriting Association (IUA), and Lloyd’s of London. We have been operating for over 20 years in the London market, processing over £101 billion worth of premium and claims transactions. We are building a new digital platform and services that will enable our customers to move transactions and money through the processing lifecycle with greater efficiency and speed.
Main Duties
* Validating bank mandates and other registration forms, raising queries as required.
* Setting up bank accounts in our in-house systems.
* Liaising with the customers and their banks.
* Updating various system tables to ensure onward processing can complete.
* Completion of various daily settlement tasks to ensure settlement runs smoothly.
* Creating and maintaining procedures to ensure the latest process is documented.
* Providing evidence and responding to questions raised by internal and external auditors.
Skills & Experience
* Strong customer service skills to ensure the customer is kept up to date with progress on their issue.
* Good analytical and communication skills are needed to ascertain the problems the customer is encountering.
* The ability to multitask is key as you will often be managing multiple queries from various customers simultaneously.
* Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy are important.
* Ability to change focus quickly as business needs dictate.
* Ability to work under pressure to meet challenging deadlines.
* A flexible team player with a “can do” attitude.
* Knowledge of banking and insurance processes is advantageous but not essential.
* Knowledge of Excel.
