Job Description
You will be responsible for directing members of the public/vehicles to recycling areas within an operational facility to help improve the council’s recycling rates ensuring that all waste types (including hazardous waste) are properly segregated and tipped into the correct bays.
You will have good communication skills, proactively engage with members of the public, promote recycling and give clear instruction to site users resolving any issues they encounter.
You will be responsible for site cleanliness and reporting any building/material defects to your supervisor for action in accordance with the site licence conditions. Use of waste compactors and light hand tools is also required.
You must be able to provide a professional, polite and high-quality service in an industrial environment, have the ability to work from height and in enclosed spaces and have an awareness of COSHH, Health &Safety practice & procedure.
Previous experience of working with members of the public is also essential.
A 4 days on/4 days off work pattern is in operation including weekend working.
