Caring, compassionate and committed are all qualities needed to care for people. If you have a passion for making a difference to the lives of others in all walks of life, this could be the start of your professional journey. The course will help you develop both academically and professionally, allowing you to understand the underpinning skills of the healthcare profession. You will use a range of assessment methods aimed at linking the theory to the practice. There is a strong emphasis on working with others and the importance of effective communication, both with other professionals and service users.

Entry Requirements
Three GCSEs at Grade 4 or above including English and Mathematics or a relevant Level 1 qualification.
Modules
Topics covered include:
1. Equality, diversity and rights in health and social care
2. Human Growth and Development
3. Safeguarding and protection in health and social care
4. Communication in health and social care
5. Working in health and social care
6. Mental health and well-being
7. Creative activities in health and social care
All units will be internally assessed using a range of methods which could include: written assignments or tasks such as designing a leaflet or booklet, charts or diagrams or setting up an information board or an in-class presentation.
Assessment
The qualification will be awarded to learners who achieve an approved combination of units through a Portfolio of Evidence that has been successfully verified and monitored through NCFE's Qualifications’ Quality Assurance process. Achievement is therefore determined by successful completion of unit assessment with no further requirement for additional/summative assessment.
You may progress onto a T Level in Health or a T Level in Healthcare Science, or a Themis Apprenticeship.
Enjoy seminars and workshops led by guest speakers and engage in activities that bring your learning to life and help you achieve your ambitions. Past and planned activities have included fundraising for local charities and team building exercises within our community.
