Electronics Test Engineer

What you’ll be doing:
You’ll be responsible for verification testing of electronic designs, preparing test equipment, and helping to document the testing process and results.
How you’ll do it:
1. You’ll be responsible for small series production testing of PCBs, to manual testing of prototypes and everything in-between.
2. You’ll assemble PCBs for prototyping purposes.
3. You’ll work closely with design engineers to test, and fault find prototypes and products.
4. You’ll use our in-house test equipment, and work with external laboratories and engineers to ensure relevant approval.
5. You’ll work with different engineering disciplines to assist in new product design and development, drawing on your experience and learning from others.
6. You’ll take the lead with PCB modification and testing.
7. You’ll be ‘hands-on’ with prototype assembly (SMT & conventional PCBs), wiring and testing.
8. You’ll fault find or rework PCB assemblies to support production as needed.

Your experience and knowledge:
* You have at least 3 years’ experience of production and prototype testing and fault finding.
* You’re experienced in digital circuit testing and fault finding (Microprocessors, serial busses, firmware programming etc).
* Some practical electrical design experience involving 3-phase power, induction and servo motors, variable speed drives, PLCs and associated switchgear would be beneficial but by no means essential.
* You’re comfortable reviewing designs in Altium.
* You might have a degree in Electronics, or you may have gained a wealth of practical experience and learning from your mistakes.
* If you’re familiar with any of the following then the stars have aligned, but we’d still love to hear from you if you haven’t:
o Experience with automation and/or motion control projects is advantageous.
o Experience in automated tests.
o Knowledge of IPC standards for manufacture of electrical/electronic products (PCB assembly, soldering, crimping, assembly workmanship etc.)
