About the role
We are seeking an experienced Construction Lawyer to join our firm as a Partner. The ideal candidate will handle both contentious and non-contentious cases, providing high-level legal advice and representation in construction-related matters.
Your expertise will guide our clients through complex legal landscapes, ensuring their projects are legally sound and efficiently managed.

Key accountabilities
Litigation management:
1. Lead and manage high-stakes construction litigation cases, ensuring effective dispute resolution strategies are in place.
Dispute resolution:
1. Employ various dispute resolution methods, such as arbitration and mediation, to resolve complex construction disputes efficiently.
Technical expertise:
1. Lead on high-value non-contentious construction matters, with expertise in drafting and negotiating complex construction documents, including JCT, NEC, FIDIC, and bespoke contracts for large-scale projects.
Client development:
1. Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships, identifying opportunities for business growth and developing strategies to enhance client satisfaction.
Legal advisory:
1. Provide expert legal advice to clients on construction law matters, including risk assessment, legal compliance, and construction contract management.
Team leadership:
1. Mentor and develop junior lawyers and support staff within the construction practice, fostering a culture of learning and excellence.
Practice development:
1. Play a key role in expanding our construction offering by identifying new market opportunities, developing client networks, and actively contributing to the strategic direction of the firm.
Legal expertise:
1. Deep understanding of construction law, including both statutory and common law, applicable regulations, and industry best practices.
Litigation experience:
1. Extensive experience in handling high-stakes construction litigation cases, demonstrating a successful track record in dispute resolution.
Negotiation skills:
1. Exceptional negotiation skills with the ability to navigate complex contractual discussions and foster amicable resolutions.
Analytical skills:
1. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex legal issues and develop strategic solutions.
Client-centric approach:
1. A flair for client development and maintaining robust relationships while delivering innovative legal solutions tailored to client needs.
Communication skills:
1. Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts clearly and persuasively.

About you
Qualified solicitor/barrister: A minimum of 10 years PQE in construction law.
Technical skills: Proven track record of successfully managing high-stakes construction litigation and non-contentious matters.
Ambitious and collaborative: A proactive, team-oriented professional who’s excited about contributing to a growing team and expanding our national presence. Experience in a leadership or partnership role within a reputable law firm is highly desirable.
