Our factory in Coventry is one of our biggest snacks manufacturing site in the UK, and home of Doritos! It is a multi-technology plant with significant automation and is home to around 650 of our team. Our Coventry site is a fast paced and ever changing environment, we can go from idea to implementation in a matter of days. Responsibilities
* Manage a team of 3 people.
* Formulate with the EHS Hub Manager and execute the annual safety strategy and targets for the site. Ensure H&S plan is devolved into SMART objectives at all levels on site/function to develop a sustainable health & safety culture.
* Make decisions as part of the leadership team to influence overall EHS strategy, change projects and site Must Win Battles.
* Partner with EHS leads from across the Supply Chain to implement Global, Sector and UK based EHS policy and local legislation.
* Partner with Site Leader to maintain EHS Culture and behavioural safety on site.
* Own the compliance process against the GEHSMS ensuring cross site ownership of all standards inclusive of the auditing process. Provide coaching for internal auditors and own completion of corrective actions.
* Standard Owner for Incident Investigation (including major RTCs if appropriate). Coach and mentor SOMs to drive continuous improvement and prevent reoccurrence.
* Standard Owner for generic and technical Risk Assessments. Maintain and review existing assessments and conduct assessments as required including new technology or procedures.
* Provide daily support and coaching to Shift Ops Managers and Technical/Non-technical Support functions in the resolution of Health & Safety issues, plus compliance to GEHSMS and current legislation both generic and fleet management.
* Critical role in change management projects to ensure safe execution of all change and risk reduction is included in all project development plans.
* Responsible for site's EHS competence development, including EHS team. Develop and deliver training to the front line teams including safe working practices, technical risk assessment and environmental procedures. Build and maintain internal communication and training program in accordance with GEHSMS requirements.
* Actively build relationships with HSE/Environment Agency to support compliance to legislation, plus Personal Liability Insurers to process personal injury compensation claims.
* Assume leadership of national Top 10 standard as required, including coaching other site standard owners to achieve national improvements.
Qualifications
* Set the agenda - a self-starter who has the ability to identify and articulate value add opportunities to both peers and senior management.
* Leadership - Confident when providing direction to senior management and Peers. Ability to manage conflict and sensitivity between commercial and safety requirements to achieve a safe outcome.
* Coaching - An articulate communicator who can listen to and understand people's needs and hence tailor the coaching style to reflect these differences.
* Influencing - Collaborate well with others to deliver results. Effective communicator to build credibility, develop relationships at all levels and positively influence behaviours.
* Business knowledge - preferably NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualified with practical environmental and/or safety management experience within FMCG operations, ideally within Logistics or manufacturing, and an ability to reach effective resolutions to complex issues.
* Take others with you - Recognised and trusted as the EHS conscience of the site. Adapts influencing styles for best outcomes.
