Job Details
Alliance Healthcare is seeking a dedicated LGV Driver, Class 2 to join our team at our Service Centre in Hinckley. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the speedy, efficient, and accurate delivery of assembled products and invoices to our customers, adhering to corporate guidelines and the principles of Good Distribution Practice.
Location: Hinckley, Leicestershire
Salary: £35,992.32 per annum
Hours: 48 hours per week, Monday to Saturday inclusive
Department: Transport
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain a safe and competent standard of driving, observing all traffic signs and speed limits.
* Conduct daily vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness, including lights, brakes, and coolant levels.
* Report any vehicle faults, breakdowns, accidents, or delays promptly.
* Abide by all tachograph laws and ensure compliance with daily and weekly rest requirements.
* Ensure all Proof of Deliveries are accurately delivered, reporting any discrepancies to the transport department.
* Collect goods returned from external customers as per instructions from transport staff.
* Maintain the cleanliness and condition of the vehicle, both internally and externally.
* Ensure the vehicle is adequately fueled for daily operations.
* Secure the vehicle and its contents at all times.
* Log all trailer seal numbers before departure and upon arrival at the service centre or customer location.
* Address any damages or breakages in accordance with special procedures for hazardous materials.
* Uphold a smart appearance and contribute to positive customer relations.
* Communicate effectively with transport staff at the service centre.
* Perform additional duties as assigned by management, while meeting all Health & Safety requirements.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
* Full driving license relevant to the vehicle being driven.
* Update fleet services with any changes in license status (e.g., points, bans).
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Intermediate numeracy and literacy skills.
* Previous experience in multi-drop delivery driving is highly desirable.
* Familiarity with route planning.
