About Us: Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service (WFRS) has fantastic opportunities to join our Fire Protection team as a Fire Safety Inspector. WFRS covers an area of 764 square miles. Successful candidate(s) will work across Warwickshire to ensure that relevant premises across the county are safe for residents, workers and visitors by applying the provisions of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. About the roles: You will be part of a dynamic team of fire safety regulators who work to keep Warwickshire safe both through formal enforcement action as well as providing advice to those with duties under the Fire Safety Order. The legislative framework governing fire safety in buildings is constantly evolving and the role of an inspector therefore requires an agile mindset and the ability to take ownership of your own development to ensure that you keep up-to-date and maintain competence. Successful candidate(s) will be responsible for conducting fire safety audits in relevant premises across Warwickshire, to ensure that responsible persons comply with their obligations under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. This includes producing letters, informal and formal notices to inform the responsible person of the outcome as well as provide feedback, guidance, and instruction. The duties of an inspector also include responding to statutory consultations as well as working with other regulatory authorities. There will be times when you are required to collaborate with various stakeholders to develop a solution that ensures sustained compliance. About you: You will need to be flexible, respond positively to change and be prepared for continuous learning and professional development throughout your career. You will have an excellent ability to communicate and build relationships with people representing both internal and external stake holders. You will also have experience in producing letters and written reports to a high standard, as well as proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Outlook.
