As a Pharmacy Technician you will:
* Perform clerical and technical tasks in the preparation, delivery, procurement and dispensing of pharmaceuticals within the hospital setting.
* Interact with other healthcare providers and patient populations ranging from the neonate to elderly.
JOB SUMMARY: Under general supervision of a licensed pharmacist, performs clerical and technical tasks in the preparation, delivery, procurement and dispensing of pharmaceuticals within the hospital setting. Interacts with other healthcare providers and patient populations ranging from the neonate to elderly.
Qualifications
Requirements:
* High School diploma or equivalent
* Valid Registration as a Pharmacy Technician by the Maryland Board of Pharmacy
Preferred:
* Prior hospital pharmacy technician experience is preferred
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
* Ability to solve mathematic/algebraic calculations required for dosage determinations and solution preparation.
* Strong written and oral communications skills.
* Working knowledge of pharmaceutical and medical terms, drug names, abbreviations, and symbols commonly used in prescribing, dispensing, administering, and charting of medications in the institution.
* Demonstrate working knowledge of drug dosages, routes of administration, and mechanical or automated delivery systems.
* Working knowledge of the procedures and operations related to manufacturing, compounding, and labeling of drug products.
