BAM FM are recruiting an M&E Engineer (Electrical Biased) to be based at UCLan Burnley Campus. Working 8.00am - 4.30pm Monday to Friday. BAM Operates a flexible working policy.
Your mission
1. Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance and completion of the appropriate paperwork and reports
2. Carry out Reactive and emergency breakdown tasks including completion of the associated paperwork
3. Assist other team members when required or as directed from the Facilities Manager
4. Ensure all tasks are completed within the contractual time scales
5. Proactively reduce energy consumption on site
6. Oversee visiting sub-contractors with regards to standard of work and Health and Safety
7. Carry out all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures
8. Understand and complete all work related documentation accurately and on time
9. Regularly review progress requests and communicate to the Supervisor / contact centre if there are problems or delays
10. Deliver a high level of customer satisfaction based on speed of response and completion rates
11. Develop and manage ongoing and routine maintenance programs
12. Responsible for the safe and secure storage of spare parts, materials, tools and consumables
13. Provide technical support to others when requested
14. Day to day monitoring and inspection of Sub-contractor works
15. Manage and control the BMS system where applicable
16. Any other duties as may be discussed and agreed
17. Manage services in accordance with contract specification, using best practice commercial and industry practices
18. Responsibility for the implementation and compliance with Health and Safety, Quality, Environmental requirements ensuring compliance with all legislation and BAM FM policies and procedures
19. Maintain up to date records in accordance with legislative and BAM FM requirements
20. Carry out other duties that may be reasonably requested from time to time by BAM FM
21. Carry out work in a safe and diligent manner
22. Ensure that detailed records are created and filed for statutory testing, inspections and record keeping.
Who are we looking for?
1. Experience of electrical/mechanical maintenance, testing & fault finding on a variety of equipment including air conditioning, plumbing, boiler plant, ventilation, pumps, generators, switchgear, cables, batteries, small power and lighting (where applicable)
2. An understanding of Service Level Agreements (SLAs), service targets and objectives and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
3. Good communication skills
4. Able to anticipate and/or diagnose and repair faults
5. Capable of completing essential paperwork in an accurate and timely manner
6. Good IT skills
7. Excellent customer service skills
8. Experience in working to a high level in one or more specific trade disciplines
9. Ability to work both individually and as part of a team
10. Ability to use own initiative
11. Good communication and interpersonal skills
12. Ability to meet deadlines
13. Experience of working in an educational institution would be advantageous
14. Full UK driver’s licence
15. Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 (PVG) in relation to this type of work is applicable

1. PASMA Certification

5. First Aid Training
