Teaching Personnel is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1-2-1 Teaching Assistant for a part-time role at a primary school in Merthyr. In this role, you will work closely with a student who presents challenging behaviour, providing tailored academic support and promoting emotional wellbeing.
This is a part-time position, Monday to Friday, working 3 hours each day, with an immediate start date.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1-2-1 academic support, catering to the student's individual learning needs.
- Implement strategies to manage challenging behaviour and promote emotional regulation.
- Create a supportive, inclusive environment where the student feels safe and valued.
- Track the student's progress and adjust strategies as needed to ensure continued improvement.
- Communicate regularly with parents, offering updates on academic and social development.
- Collaborate with staff to ensure consistency in the student's support and learning.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have experience supporting students with ALN and challenging behaviour, ideally in a 1-2-1 setting.
- Be patient, empathetic, and energetic, with a positive mindset.
- Understand child development and learning theories.
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, building strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Show resilience and adaptability in diverse educational settings.
