You will be supporting the council tax & housing benefit teams, to work with families/individuals who are struggling to pay their council tax and may have multiple other issues that require early help and support, where a multi-agency approach is required. You will identify appropriate pathways for residents. About the role In Salford, we have a continuous drive to transform what we do with better digital services and improving our customer engagement. Council tax & Housing benefit touches on all aspects of the city i.e. growth, debt, social care and health, that s why we need to get it right and we need people who are passionate about the needs of our residents. About you You ll be confident talking to customers and be able to respond in a professional and understanding way. You will be a vital part of the team so you will be a good team player, prepared to be flexible and supportive to ensure as a team we deliver excellent customer service when our service is open. You will be able to learn and understand council policies and legislation and apply it to the role where needed. You will need excellent customer service skills, be keen to learn and share good practice and skills. You will be confident at building up new relationships with partner agencies/community groups. You will be keen to offer ideas and solutions to solve problems and improve our service delivery. You will be able to work efficiently across a number of IT systems, with excellent attention to details and be a keen to promote and encourage a digital first approach to our residents to deliver a quicker, easier and better service. Please be aware that this post is subject to a basic Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and that you will be required to meet the cost of the DBS check. The cost of this is currently 21.00. The payment for this will be deducted from your first four months salary payments at a rate of 5.25 per month.
