Job Title: Bid Writer
Location: Onsite, Cambridge
Salary: £35k - £45k
We are currently recruiting for a Bid Writer to join the Pre Construction team of an established main contractor. The role involves working on a diverse range of interesting and challenging projects across multiple sectors. This position is ideal for someone from a marketing, business development, or bid-leading background, with construction experience preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
* Re-write/edit proposal responses from various stakeholders, including sales, marketing, finance, and legal teams.
* Deliver completed proposals to the Bid Lead/Manager by agreed deadlines, escalating issues as necessary.
* Lead storyboard sessions with bid/proposal team members.
* Conduct market research for kickoff and solution meetings.
* Develop and manage a network of subject matter experts.
* Identify and re-work existing pre-written content where relevant.
* Coach and guide Bid teams in writing best practices.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written.
* High attention to detail with meticulous proof-reading skills.
* Strong time management and prioritisation abilities.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (preferably 2010 suite – Word, Excel, Outlook). Experience with Adobe InDesign is beneficial but not essential (training available).
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Knowledge of proposal automation software is a plus.
